Before preparing kids food sterilizes the vessel.
Based on the age of the baby, prepare the texture of the porridge: Paste for 6-8 months old babies or semi-solid for 8+ months. For the paste: Mix 2 tablespoon(20 gms) of Ragi cereal with 2 cups (200 ml) of milk or water. For semi-solid: Mix 2 tablespoon(20 gms) of Ragi cereal with 1 cup(100 ml) of water or milk.
Add ghee, sugar or jaggery & salt as per your need for taste.
Boil for 2-3 minutes to form a smooth texture.
Stir well while cooking to avoid lumps.
Your delicious porridge is ready to serve! Feed the child after the porridge has cooled to room temperature.
You can cook Ragi cereal in water and while serving you can add some milk in it.
You can make spicy by tempering with coriander-cumin powder, garlic, turmeric, asafoetida, & other spices in oil. Add Ragi cereal mixed with water in it and cook well.
Also, you can prepare tasty dosa or idli by adding some curd in ragi cereal or make roti of it.
